L'il Critters

In order to consume enough food, elephants spend about 18 hours a day eating.

African elephants are the largest living land mammals, weighing up to 15,500 pounds. They are an endangered species—due to poaching for ivory and disappearing habitat—and live mostly in parks and wildlife reserves. Elephants eat grass, trees and fruit, sometimes feeding for 18 hours a day. A thirsty elephant can drink 55 gallons of water in minutes.
